Having been diagnosed with skin cancer a year ago, Sue Timoney has not only tackled the illness head on, but she has also made it her mission to raise as much money as possible for research into the devastating disease.
As part of 12 months of fundraising for British Skin Foundation’s ‘It Takes Seven’ campaign, Sue organised a fashion show at The Dunsforth public house and restaurant that attracted 80 people and raised £1,400.
The second sell-out show of its kind in just six months saw Boroughbridge-based businesses Ella Georgia, Bean Vintage and Knaresborough based Sheer Bliss showcase an array of clothing, accessories, underwear and swimwear collections, which included designs straight from this seasons’ London catwalks. Watkins Wright Salon styled all 20 of the models hair, and the evening was a resounding success.
Sue, who has recently set up her own fitness instructor business, has also run the York 10k, climbed all three of the National highest peaks within 24 hours and completed the Leeds half marathon in just over 2 hours. The total raised to date is £6,100, and plans are place for a Vintage Tea Party in July 2015. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Sue on 07841 054967.
