This years Poppy Appeal will begin with the British Legion Coffee Morning at St James Church on Saturday 27th October from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Entry is £2 which includes refreshments and biscuits, there will also be a cake stall and raffle, all welcome.

Join us outside St. Mary’s Church, Roecliffe at 6.40pm where we will remember them. After lighting the beacon, there will be a glass of mulled wine and we can share any stories of family members who served in WW1.
Langthorpe Parish council are hosting a beacon in conjunction with over 1000 other sites across the UK to celebrate ‘The Battle’s Over’, a tribute to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The beacon will be lit at 7 pm on Sunday the 11th November at the top of Back Lane, Langthorpe. There will be no parking! The best access will be from Leeming Lane walking along the footpath to the south of East View or walking up Back Lane.
A talk focused on Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot, including the local Yorkshire connections – Tony Morgan. All welcome – guests £3, members free. The talk will be followed by tea and biscuits. www.boroughbridgehistory.co.uk

The little gin festival company are taking our gin rummy festival to the Coronation Hall, with over 120 Gins, rums and a selection of vodkas, with prosecco added too, and live music.
